Ruthenbeck Crew R-30 Summary

The Ruthenbeck Replacement Crew arrived at North Pickenham in early July. After going through a little in-house training they were assigned to the 856th BS. We don't know what their crew designation number was.
|

By our count the Crew flew 8 missions plus an aborted one. We don't know who was on each of these missions or if there were any personnel reassignments. We did get a scanned copy of Karl Ruthenbeck's personnel data sheet at the 406th NLS which credited him for 8 combat missions and one Air Medal.

|
The Crew transferred to the old 858th BS which had been reassigned to Cheddington for night leaflet dropping. Soon after arriving, the 858th BS was redesignated as the 406th Night Leaflet Squadron (NLS).
